Covid 19 "studies in confinement"
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
I have been associated
with Art Students League
intermittently for many years
and have worked recently
in oils with Philip Sherrod,
watercolorist Naomi Campbell,
Kenneth McIndoe
and Ronnie Lanfield.
Over the years, I have pursued many avenues to earn a living, including teaching, working as a chef, and more recently, I worked as a public interest lawyer for 15 years. I currently am able to travel frequently to Italy, where I indulge my love of painting the peerless landscapes, and studying the masterpieces in the peerless museums and churches of Florence and Siena.
The best lack all conviction,
while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

William Butler Yeats
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
